The setup consists of a heater sandwiched between two sets of slabs.  Three types of slabs are provided on either sides of heater, which forms a composite structure. A small hand press frame is provided to ensure the perfect contact between the slabs.  A variac is provided for varying the input to the heater. Digital Voltmeter and Digital Ammeter display the heat input. Heat produced by heater flows axially on both the sides. Temperature Sensors are embedded at the interfaces of slabs to determine the temperature gradient. The experiment can be conducted at various values of heat input and calculation can be made accordingly.

Product Details:

The setup is designed and fabricated to study lagging phenomenon in case of pipes. It consists of three concentric pipes of small thickness as compared to diameter and are arranged concentrically, and closed with the help of two discs. Two different insulating materials fill the annuli between the cylinders. Temperature Sensors are fitted to measure the temperature of pipe walls for radial outward heat flow measurement.  Inside the inner pipe, a Nichrome wire heater is placed axially.  Heat input to the heater is given through a variac and measured by Digital Voltmeter and Digital Ammeter.

Product Details:

The apparatus is designed to demonstrate the hydraulic characteristics and settling efficiencies of a model settling basin. The apparatus consists of a Sedimentation Tank in which the water is fed by overhead tank (available in user laboratory and not in scope of supply) at constant flow rate and is measured with the help of a Rotameter. A complete unit for slurry circulation in sedimentation tank also accompanies the set-up including a sump tank for slurry, a feed pump for slurry. Flow rate of slurry entering the sedimentation tank is metered by suitable device.

 

An accurate dye injection system is provided to inject the known volume of dye in the sedimentation tank. In sedimentation tank a weir is fitted which facilitate to the entry of well mixed slurry of known concentration in sedimentation tank uniformly.

The apparatus consists of a Pin Fin placed inside an open duct. The other end of the duct is connected to the suction side of a blower. The delivery side of the blower is taken up through a gate valve and an orifice plate to the atmosphere. The pressure drop across an orifice can be measured by using U tube manometer with mercury as working fluid.The Pin is heated by a heater at different heat inputs. Thermocouples (5 nos.) are embedded along the length of the pin. Various parameters like heater input (Voltage & Current), temperatures are measured by respective Digital Indicators.

Product Details:

Vaccum Dryer is a dryer in which moisture removal takes place by heat under vaccum condition. The set-up consists of an insulated Stainless Steel chamber fitted with heater. Inside the chamber a tray is attached directly to an electronic weighing balance, which is fitted on the bottom, outside the chamber. Pin on Disc Wear Test Rig is designed to study friction and wear characteristics in sliding contacts. Sliding occurs between a stationary pin and a rotating disc.
