Materials, that have different magnetic at tractability, may be separated by passing them through a magnetic field. For a processing vessel to be effective the volume of fluid circulated by the impellers must be sufficient to sweep out the entire vessel in a reasonable time. Technical Description:
The apparatus has been designed to introduce students to the fundamental characteristics of the behaviour of the particle system, in particular the relationship between the drag coefficient of falling particles and Reynolds number. The apparatus is based on the principle that when compressed air is purged in to the pipe, the liquid with in the pipe is displaced by air pressure equal to the hydrostatic force of the liquid in the tank or vessel. The apparatus consists of a pipe lowered into the water tank to appoint about 1” above the bottom of the tank. This tank is fitted with a scale to get direct reading of liquid in the tank. Pressure regulator, when operated, gives a constant flow of air at constant pressure and it is observed by seeing the bubble coming out from bubbler pipe which is dipped in water
Tank. AU Tube manometer is connected separately to the upper end of the bubbler pipe. The system operates by building up a pressure in the feed line until the air escapes and the flow stabilizes. The pressure in the bubbler pipe necessary to cause the flow is just negligibly higher than the liquid head over the bubbler pipe. Therefore, the air feed must be available at a pressure slightly higher than the maximum head to be measured. The pressure measured by the manometer gives the water level in terms of head. All components are assembled on MS Structure and fitted on a base plate to form table top set-up.

Rotary dryer is a unit in which drying is done by forced draft action created by hot air. The set-up consists of a long revolving cylindrical shell slightly inclined towards the outlet. The shell is fitted with two brackets for support. Air from a blower passes through a heating chamber serves the purpose of drying agent. Industrial sedimentation operations may be carried out batch wise and continuously in equipment called thickener. The equipment is a cylindrical tank with openings for a slurry feed and product draw off. The tank is filled with dilute slurry and slurry is permitted to settle. A ribbon blender consists of a horizontal trough containing a central shaft and a helical ribbon agitator. The present set-up is designed to study the working principle and calibration procedure of P/I converter and converter. Air pressure is given to both by compressed air out put generated by the both converter is observed and measured. P/I converter accepts the pressure input 0-1 bar and gives output 4-20m ADC accordingly, which can be measured using Digital Current Source/Meter. And in case of I/P converter, the current input of 4-20m ADC is given to I/P Converter by Digital Current Source/Meter and out put response in 3-15PSIG is observed and measured by Bourdon type Pressure Gauge.
The set-up is self contained with Air pressure regulator, pressure gauges and necessary piping. All component and accessories are properly mounted on the rigid MS structure and fitted on a base plate to form a table top set-up.
